what are my rights if I remarry from pakistan

Post by MuhammadSaleem » Mon Mar 19, 2018 9:33 pm

Hi I claimed asylum and my wife and kids joined me in 2015 under the family reunion.
I have 5 very young children and my wife has passed away since then. I am also partially sighted and live in council property.
I am thinking of getting married from Pakistan. Could you please guide me on what the best way to go forward is and what my rights are please. Thanks

The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.

the only thing i can say if you claim asylum and you've been granted refugee status because your life wasn't safe in Pakistan , then how can you go back to Pakistan for marriage, i am sure you're not allowed to travel back to Pakistan, or may be you can married to your wife some other country such as Dubai, because you have to show evidence to home office that marriage ceremony has taken place through such as wedding photograph , but i would suggest you seek legal advice from solicitor

If you can, save all the hassle and try find a suitable wife and get married in UK, trust me you will save a lot of headache. You are better off waiting until you get ILR if possible, which you should get in 2020.

Seek professional advise if you are really struggling to cope and need to marry in Pakistan.

Thanks guys.
I've found out as I am on pip I don't need to meet the financial requirements but I don't know what my requirements for accomodation are as I have 5 children and am living in a 3 bedroom council house.
