ARRESTED WHEN I WAS ON SPOUSE VISA NOW CITIZENSHIP........NEED HELP

Post by Hassan7861 » Thu Apr 05, 2018 12:29 pm

Hi admin.
I have 1 question if you please have some time to answer.

Im due to apply for naturalization. I been granted ILR long residence last year. In the past i was married to a british citizen and had a spouse visa me and my ex wife had a argument and for no reason she called the police and lied to them that i assulted her when truth is i never touched her all she wanted to get me out of the house. So long story short police came and arrested me took me to police station they also called home office told them i was arrested but i was released without charge as there was no evidence of me assulting my ex wife and even my ex wife refused to take things further. Police again called home office and told them i was released without any charge as their was no evidence. Last year when i got my SAR report its says on that that i was arrested but released with out any charge. After that i got divorced and switched to other category as an EEA dependent of my father as hebis a swedish national.

Will this incident effect my citizenship ? Like they might say im not of a good chracter due to that incident.

Hope u can find few minutes to answer my question
Regards

On the face of it should not be a problem, and they have the notes on their system.
I would suggest though you mention this incident in your application, even though there was no charge. They could argue you were withholding a material fact and that would be against "good character" requirements.
This is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.
Please do not send me private messages asking for advice.
