Albanian Boyfreind! I need HELP!

Post by leeana » Tue Apr 10, 2018 11:52 am

Hi all.

I have an Albanian boyfriend, yes it happened. I meet him last year and we get along well, we decided to keep dating and we are very happy together. I know about his illegal situation, and I admire him because he had a very poor life back in his country and he just wants to do his best, to work hard, to help his parents and try to have a better life.

Now we are at a point in which we would like to live together but we have loads of problems to rent due to his situation. I'm a full-time worker. I'm Spanish and legal but the problem is him. He works as well, full time, but without papers.

We don't want to get married yet or have children, we want to do it well, to live together, to see how is the relationship evolving, etc. And after, maybe we can speak about marriage.

Did someone had the same situation so I can speak with? I really don't know where to ask and sometimes I would love to have someone to speak about this and to hear some advice from past experiences.

Thank you.

Until you have documented proof of living together in a durable relationship 'akin to marriage' you will be unable to apply for an EEA EFM permit as unmarried partners.

The illegal working together with him having no legal status in the UK may prove to be an issue with any application to remain.

Thank you for your answer.

I didn't know about the EEA EFM. So we need to live together but is impossible to find a flat. As well, he can't have a legal job without papers...so difficult...

Added to the fact that if his illegal working comes to the attention of the Home Office, his employer faces a fine of £20,000. Is he working with false papers :?:

No, he doesn't have fake papers. But what to do, there is no way he can take papers...

Difficult to suggest as way forward as it appears you don't want to marry.
