Name issue looking for suggestion

Hi Gurus

I need a suggestion as I am having a ILR and due for British passport soon, i am in confusion right now as my first name and surname is running same on my Pakistani passport due to the i didn't had my surname written on my first passport however this is not correct i do have surname but not on documents but i am living it right now with same name and surname on passport and BRP

i seek a advice from solicitor and he said get British passport first then get it change over otherwise if i would change now i would have to change on my Pakistani passport first then BRP which would be long process.

can someone advice please if he has advice me right?
