Has anyone with 45 points got any update on RCOS?
Nope, still waiting
Welll..Let's hope for the best. If there aint any reply yet then it means we still have a chance this time..
Same time last month no decisions past 60 points
[/quote]

Last month there were 700 RCoS less than this month.. April has 2200 slots for RCoS.

Visa refused AGAIN! 34 points. Trying since December.
Seems like the HO is adamant on not finding a solution to this problem and will let it run on auto-pilot till the time 40-46 points become the norm. I have started to feel that people in 30s might never get approval at all. :(

I really hope this month is for clearing the backlog of late 40s-50+ that sound like a big chunk of applicants... I hope at least

I have reached out to my lawyer and hope I can get some clarity on this... it's hard not just for people who have been trying for months but also the uncertainty with a low number of points (31). It won't get fixed if every month there are people with very high salaries having the certificates

Neurosurgery SHO post refused. 52K salary.

In this case chances of 30's getting through is low. But still *fingers crossed*

That means anyone with points 50 [30( Salary ) +20 (RLMT) ] is refused . 50 Is too high to be refused when there are applications at 21 waiting :-(

I am an employer waiting for Four COS since January so are the candidates. We have 39 points .This is just ridiculous.
hahaha....some people are waiting from October month...
October and November's cut off were 21 points so maybe they made mistakes in their paperwork, unfortunate
Nooo... some of the people who applied for Novemeber allocation..they ahev kept applications on Hold and carried them onto December...in December they have refused those

So it looks like the cut off score might be around the 55 mark (or maybe a tiny bit lower if that 52k application was rejected and not refused)?

People will say it's shocking but I think it's pretty much expected for a few reasons:

1. Everyone seemed to be eyeing April as the month to apply thinking that with the new quota and more RCoS available it would be the best month to get through, so they would have been inundated with a tonne of applications.

2. We know from questions here from posters that following the trends of January and February quite a few employers were increasing salaries to 50k+ to get RCoS - this would have just created more of a backlog in the 50s.

3. April has traditionally been a big recruitment month for nurses as it is - and since the cold weather has hung around the UK for a long time this year the winter pressures period has extended leading to the need for even more nurses.

As someone with points in the lowish 30s I'm sort of second guessing how long I want to keep going with this. It's going to be a loooooooooong time, if ever I, and people on similar points get through. Honestly if it wasn't because I already had a life in the UK and people expecting me back I certainly wouldn't be bothering with all this and sort of every passing day I'm feeling more "meh" about going back.

I am an employer trying to recruit someone on 36 and now 40 points. I wrote to my MP, who wrote to the Minister responsible. Here is the reply from the Assistant MP Account Manager at the UK Visas and Immigration and Her Majesty's Passport Office, not really saying anything I didn't already know. I thought people might find it useful:

Dear [MP's name]

Thank you for your letter of XX February to the Immigration Minister with enclosures on behalf of [me] who is concerned that the limit given to Tier 2 skilled workers is adversely impacting his business. Your letter has been passed to me to reply as agreed with your constituency office.

I should explain that due to the dramatic increase in applications for all occupations within the Tier 2 limit, the points required for a Restricted Certificate of Sponsorship (Restricted CoS) at recent allocation panels has been above 45 points; compared with the threshold of 21 points required at almost all of the previous monthly allocation panels.

Mr X's correspondance suggest that the solution to this would be to increase the monthly allocation temporarily to meet demand. We keep all immigration routes under constant review and whilst we acknowledge Mr X's suggestion, the total number of Restricted CoS are divided into monthly quotas to ensure that certificates are available throughout the year; as set out in the Immigration Rules.

The annual limit is 're-set' in March 2018, with the new 2018/19 monthly allocations becoming available in April 2018. As set out in the Immigration Rules, the provisional monthly allocation for the April 2018 panel is higher than the allocation in recent months. There are certificates available and X can re-submit their application for inclusion in the next monthly panel.

Yours Sincerely,

XXXX

Very True analysis.... it may take another 4-5 months for 30s to get approved probably

Not to forget, there has been a big chunk os people waiting between the points 35-45 who were never approved in last 5 months

if my salary is 53k base + bonus (non-guaranteed)
and if the job is in the banking sector (non-shortage and non-phd)
then what is my score for rcos? I don't know how it's calculated..
