My salary was over 60k per annum in non shortage occupation, but i got email from my employer that my COS has been rejected as I am not meeting the required points. Guys I am amazed . 
Do you know what could be the reason for rejection. My employer is not saying me anything.

Because there is no Tier in 2 ICT Short term visa ... So if some one is looking to apply for under Tier 2 there there are 2 choices ... ICT and General. Since there is no ICT short term visa and the minimum salary requirement for ICT long term is £42k ... Employers & employees are applying for Tier 2 ge real visa for their own benefits. Hence the number of applicant has seen a sudden spike so has the cut off point.
But even if the number of application increase because of this the increase will be below 40-45 points which means it will be hard for the pints below 45. But here the application only above 45-50 are being accepted and rest are refused which means the shortage occupations, PHD jobs and higher paying jobs are having the majority of application share. And that I feel is their plan as well ... Turn down majority of the applications and get skilled employees with higher salary band to get more tax from them. Thus way UK govt is in win win situation .... They get more tax and they can also go back to their people and say we have got immigration under control. A lot of what is causing the number to increase is Nurses being on the shortage occupation list; which at entry level are certainly not making anywhere near £60k. I don't think that this has been orchestrated by anyone, just that we have all had a bad bit of luck with applying.
