urgent query

Hi,

I was not sure whether to post this topic under this forum or HSMP forum so I will leave it for the moderators if I am making a mistake in posting this topic here.

I have already put in a joint EEA1/EEA2 application end of february this year. But after the JR ruling on HSMP- I think I would be eligible to apply for a 1 year extension and then ILR or ILR directly as I will complete 4 years on HSMP on May 8th(depending of course on HO's guidelines - god knows when they will come out with it).
I just wanted to know whether it is possible to have two live applications (in this case EEA2 and HSMP extension) simultaneously or if I now applied for an HSMP extension the EEA2 application will be discarded.

I am in a lot of confusion and anxiety like everybody else with HO's meaningless charade with this whole matter but any advice would be very much appreciated.
