Just a final quick update. I decided to visit VFS to see if my passport was ready and it was. They never emailed me or notified me about it. Another friend of mine did the same and got his passport too.

So I think if the ukvi tells you a decision has been made and you havent opted for the courier service and the passport collection center is close to you it may make sense to go and check if its ready.

Also I submitted my application on the 23rd april and the decision letter (approval :D ) was dated 25th april.

Hi Plabber

Have u visited vfs center? Did u collect visa? When I called, they told that decision has been taken apr 21. I didn't receive any communication from them by mail or SMS. Last friday I visited to vfs, they informed that it was still with high commission at chennai..

Rajani/chiku
Any updates?
What is the status now

Thanks

My husband applied tier2 general visa non priority on Dec 7 2017. He got visa 13 Dec 2017. But we (me and kids) applied dependant visa April 6 2018. Still now no visa

I did a standard application and submitted documents and biometrics on 19/3. I am still waiting, it has been 31 working days. I was meant to start work at the start of last week.

Applying from Brisbane Australia.

Hello everyone,

I am posting my experience and would like your comments and advice.

I applied for Tier 2 visa Shortage occupation 5 years for myself and my 05 year old daughter. My wife is already in the UK and has joined her job there on the 01/04/2018.
My work start date is 01/05/2018. My visa saga is as below

Premium lounge,Priority visa, walk in appointment

Date of online submission of visa 21/04/2018

Date of Biometrics and visa submission 23/04/2018

Date on visa approval letter 25/04/2018

Called VFS on the 01/05/2018...informed that the passports have not been dispatched yet.

Called UKVI helpline on 02/05/2018...informed that a decision has been made on my visa but not on my daughters visa.

Received my passport but not my daughters on the 03/05/2018.
No emails or SMS intimation from VFS till now.
Called UKVI again today 03/05/2018 ...my daughters visa application is still pending. I was advised to request escalation of my daughters visa application by 14th of May if I have not got it till then.

My visa vignette is till 25/05/2018.....

Where did I go wrong ?

I. Applied on 1st May and opted for sms service. Non priority standard procedure. For tier 2 general visa (me and partner)

I have not yet received any sms or email acknowledgement from embassy that my application is submitted or received by them. Even though I had paid for sms service. Can someone please confirm if this Expected?

yes this is expected, in my experience of 3 tier 2 ict visas - SMS service is always flaky....sometimes they do first message (application dispatched or received) and silent!!! sometimes no acknowledgement but after 10 days u get application is processed

so wavered facility!!

My analysis from trawling through the previous posts is that dependants visa processing currently takes one month and that once the decion is made the embassy in Chennai takes a week to stamp it and send it to the address.

Hello SUjatha,

I read from your previous posts that the UKVI had informed you that the delay was caused by security processing. How did you get to know this ? I called UKVI reg my daughter and was told that they cant tell me reasons why my daughters visa decision is still pending..

I have emailed them today....Am really getting fed up of all these applications and delays....I havent still got amy email or SMS from VFS either.

This is really concerning!! 31 working days over and no update means you must have escalated the case with UKVI and they are already past their 15 days timeline. :(

I can see some - who applied for Tier 2 from bangalaore (both normal VFS and VFS Premium lounge) getting delayed?
As normally it takes 15 working days if standard and 5 days if priority, however some of them are worried it is taking more than 15 days irrespective of priority or standard....

Please confirm if so? FYI, This will help us who are planning to apply soon
Thanks

I guess
VFS submission, Document sending to VISA office, VISA officer consideration, Decision are all happening normally
Not sure, what is happening between decison and document sending back to VFS/courier to applicant. I guess there is a delay at this? Do you agree?

I believe its not going normal way, atleast not for all. This is the first time I have seen an issue in my visa process. I have applied for different countries like china,US,UK(ICT-dependent),Schengen etc but faced this delay for the first time. At the least I would have expected UKVI to communicate properly if there was some missing document or verification issue. Me and my husband are working and paying tax in UK on permanent job. Submitted our BRP copies. Dont know WTH are they checking !! Totally unacceptable!
