Unmarried partner visa on my old expired passport

Post by Crosz » Sat May 12, 2018 6:57 am

Please can someone advice me on this tricky situation. I am in a bind. My wife has a job offer in the UK and all of us including our 2 kids will be applying for UK visa.

We all live in South Africa. My wife is from South Africa but I am from another country in Africa (not a South African citizen yet). I have lived in South Africa since 2008. I came in 2008 with a visitors visa, then obtained a study visa. When my study visa was about to expire in october 2011, I applied for an unmarried partner/life partner visa with my then girlfriend. This visa was issued in March 2012, five months after my study visa expired. The life partner visa was to expire in March 2014.

But in August 2013 I married another girl who is not the girl with whom I got issued a life partner visa. In September 2013, I got a job and I was issued a work visa which I am still using today. I have been married to my wife for 5 years we have 2 kids

My major headache is that the life partner visa I was issued in 2013 with another girl who is not my present wife is in my old expired passport. I am worried about what the people deciding on the visa will think when they open my expired passport and see it. What they will make of it and what are my chances of being granted a visa. Also what do you guys think is the best way to go about this application. Thanks in advance and waiting for your replies

nothing to worry about. you have tons of evidences showing your relationship with your current partner. They won't judge you for how you obtained your visa in south Africa, you are not obligated to marry the girl whom lead you have whatever visa in south Africa.

And now you stay in south Africa legally by working visa, not on life partner visa with the other girl. Nothing bother you for sure.

@cyclina1 Thanks for the reply. Im just worried that they would say that I did that to stay in South Africa when my study visa expired and that I might repeat the same or similar thing in the UK when my wife's tier 2 expires. That it shows that I don't intend leaving the UK.

I hope alot more people can contribute to the this thread.
