Hello everyone,

I am posting my experience for every one's benefit.

I applied for Tier 2 visa Shortage occupation 5 years for myself and my 05 year old daughter. My wife is already in the UK and has joined her job there on the 01/04/2018.
My work start date is 01/05/2018. My visa saga is as below

Premium lounge,Priority visa, walk in appointment

Date of online submission of visa 21/04/2018

Date of Biometrics and visa submission 23/04/2018

Date on visa approval letter 25/04/2018

Called VFS on the 01/05/2018...informed that the passports have not been dispatched yet.

Called UKVI helpline on 02/05/2018...informed that a decision has been made on my visa but not on my daughters visa.

Received my passport but not my daughters on the 03/05/2018.
No emails or SMS intimation from VFS till now.
Called UKVI again today 03/05/2018 ...my daughters visa application is still pending. I was advised to request escalation of my daughters visa application by 14th of May if I have not got it till then.

Emailed UKVI over the next few days explaining as politely and professionally as possible my predicament of being the sole care giver and non receipt of my daughters visa and passport.

Was informed yesterday that decision was taken on the 08/05/2018..

Got my daughters passport..with Visa :-) today....again no email or sms intimation from VFS.

My tip to everyone is to be polite and explain your rationale clearly to the UKVI by email or telephone if you are contacting them.

Best of luck to every one...I do wish everyone gets their visa.

Bye

Hello Everyone,

I have gone through this thread and could not find a case similar to mine and hence thought of asking on this forum:

Online application - April 19
Biometrics - April 26
Email on application been prepared for assessment of ECO - May 2
I sent a paid enquiry on May 7 to check on the status and I was told the status is complete. Following is an extract of their response to my email -
__

With regards to your enquiry about the status of your application (GWF______ and GWF______ - my and my dependents) I can confirm that we have made a decision on your application. We cannot discuss the outcome of your application on-line or by telephone. However the visa application centre will be in contact with you in regards to collection or delivery of your passport.
__

Today is May 10. I have not received any intimation of Passport been dispatched. I went personally to the visa application center and they informed me that they have not received anything yet.

Could anyone help me understand the situation and what should be my next steps.

Thanks in anticipation.

Okay. Just a suggestion - try emailing them. It costs GBP 5 but they reply as many times as you want on the same query. Also, though the call costs GBP 1.something, every call goes up to 3 to 4 minutes!

Just contacted VFS and they said a decision has been made and I have to wait for VFS to contact me. I submitted it on Monday (23rd April) at the Mumbai (south) center on a priority basis.
Great dude..did u get any mail related to this? Have u applied tier2 general -pbs ?
No, I used the paid service to contact UKVI. I have applied for a tier 2 general - shortage occupation visa.
Something similar is my case. I received a similar revert from UKVI on my query and that visa application center will get in touch with me.

Did you get your passport yet?

Hi,
I have applied for my Tier ICT visa along with my wife and 2 kids and given my biometric on 12-Apr at Chennai. My dependents have received the stamped passport on 3-May.

When I contacted UKVI for the status of my visa, they told for my case the decision has been made around 30-Apr but have not received my passport yet. They asked me wait till 14-May and then my case can be escalated. Its already crossed 9 working days and still waiting.

Does anyone with similar experience suggest me what could have been the reason and what should I do next.

Hi Anil,

Did you/ your dependents receive email stating that a decision has been made and that the Passport has been sent to the Visa Application Center?

Or a SMS informing your dependents to collect the Passport from the VAC?

Just a quick update. I applied for the visa on Monday (23rd April) from Mumbai India via the priority service. Received an update on the 24th of April (yesterday) that the electronic application had reached Sheffeld, UK and was being prepared for consideration by an entry clearance officer.
Hi Plabber. Did you get your VISA? My biometrics were on April 26, recd 6th Sheffield email on May 2, had called UKVI and they said application status is complete. No word since. Standard application.

i guess plabber didnt cleared mentioned, however I presume he collected his passport (VISA stamped) from VFS directly, after he received news that decision is made!

If you too got the message and not opted courier - it is worth trying in VFS
