Delay in Tier 2 General Visa

Hello,
I have received my CoS this month & I am planning to apply for Tier 2 General Visa for me & my family soon. Job start date is around June last week. Please let me know what is the entry clearance period within which I can enter UK.
I got an information that I can land in UK mac 1 week before the start date & delay it till max 1 week post the stated date.
Please let me know if this information is correct & if now how much can I delay the arrival for me.

Since i will be applying for me & my family I assume same period will be applicable to all of us. Please let me know if this is correct ?

You will get a 30 day valid visa and can only enter the UK anytime within that 30 days. This applies to you and your dependents.

Date of visa will be from date of approval.

Hello,
I had appeared for my Tier 2 General Visa Interview on 10th of may along with my family. I had opted for priority service & hence was expecting result in 5 days. I had also opted for SMS & courier service while submitting my application at Pune VFS center.
On 17th May decision for my Spouse & Daughter was taken & documents were sent via courier. I received their passports with Tier 2 general Dependent Visa stamping as well as Visa grant letter.

Surprisingly I did not receive my documents till now. Its 14th Day today & still there is no clue on the status of my application. I did try calling the customer support but they did not have concrete update.
I assume since my dependents have received their Visa, Decision on My Visa / Main applicants visa is also taken. Unless they decide on main applicant Visa dependents cant be granted their Visa. If this is true why has my documents being held.

If they are going to take 15 days even under Priority whats the point in paying additional cost for the priority.

Can some some comment what could be the reason for delay in My document receipt.

you are right Mandar, if not ur decision is green - ur dependants wont get VISA. Hence urs could have granted as well!
Not sure what are those processes after decision made and before sending documents back. I believe it a is matter of time - please wait for a day and u can escalate after 15th working day!

Ironically I am saying this myself who is also anxiously waiting for my T2 Gen, priority applied on 18-May

Yes regarding priority, if they push some applications into 15 day window, how can they charge huge money for this fancy service, to justify they should re-reimburse it isn't it?

Finally I got my Visa documents last Saturday & as expected the decision is positive.
I am not sure why did they took so long to send mine.
