Premium Centre Applications

Post by Ifor Williams » Mon Jun 04, 2018 3:08 pm

My wifes Spousal visa is due to be renewed in October, whereby she will be applying for Indefinite Leave/ Settlement. By this point, she will have been in the UK for 6 years and 2 months, so well past the required 5 years.

The wording for use of Premium Centre processing seems a bit ambiguous:

For settlement applications
If you are applying for settlement (known as ‘indefinite leave to remain’), please ensure that your premium appointment is within 28 days of you completing your qualifying period. If it is not, you should reschedule or cancel your appointment.

I’m assuming this refers to being within 28 days PRIOR to completing the qualifying period? i.e she can still apply thru the Premium Centre although she is way beyond her qualifying period?

She can apply at anytime in person or by post, EITHER within 28 days before reaching 5 years (counted from date of entry to the UK) or before her current visa expires.

Yep, that’s what I thought- it was just the words “within 28 days”, that I though a little confusing ie it suggested that she had to apply within 28 days of completing her 5 years….which didn’t really make sense. Qualifying it with within 28 days before reaching 5 years makes more sense. Thanks.
