I heard about those investigations aswell but how long its going to be. They have right to check on everything but 2 years is more than enough time to make a decision. Is there anyone who is waiting for 2 years?
It will be 2 years for me in couple of months ... :(

It doesnt target all EU4FAM , EU4FAM that meets a certain criteria the have defined (Sort of red flags).

People from Certain countries ()

People who got eu4fam by to eu citizen from certain countries (mostly eastern europe)

People with a certain Immigration history .

But EU4FAM checks are definitively far more extensive given that they request document that are notnecessary for citizenship rules for example.

This mean even legit people could be slowed down into this whole thing due to false positive.

If you search on google : The GNIB has established that 1,135 bogus marriages took place between 2012 and 2013 and, along with the INIS, is working to block citizenship applications as they fall due for consideration.
It is understood that the investigation centres on marriages between Asian nationals and 200 Latvian, 91 Estonian and 181 Slovakian women. The bulk of the cases under investigation involve over 500 Portuguese 'brides'. So mainly.

Update from inis by email regarding my wife’s app
App is in advanced stage and will be contacted in due course with decision. Sounds optimistic but would not believe until we receive the approval letter.
App submitted in July 2017.

I am new in this forum but I have noticed that they have 2 or 3 responses and everyone gets same response in a given week. It could be advanced stage this week and processing next. Looks like they set auto reply for the week and keep rotating between messages and these responses mean nothing as I got exact same messages Arlie replied this week

A gentle reminder to posters in this topic that it is for 2016 Application dealys only and not for 2017 application delays or updates.

not really:
Jul 2017 (even before 2nd letter), same reply Mar 2018, May 2018,
Your application is currently being processed with a view to establishing
whether it meets the statutory conditions for the granting of
naturalisation, such as good character and lawful residence, and will be
submitted to the Minister for decision as expeditiously as possible.

Nov 2017, Jan 2018, April 2018 twice
Your application is still under consideration and has not yet reached a
conclusion. While it is not possible to give an exact timeframe, this
office will be in touch as soon as a decision has been reached.

May 2018 when pushed for how long can this be processed by their timeframes as it’s supposed to be done within 6 months
Your application has not yet been submitted to the Minister for decision,
It is recognised that all applicants for citizenship would wish to have a
decision on their application without delay. While most cases are now
generally processed within six months, the nature of the naturalisation
process is such that, for a broad range of reasons, some cases will take
longer than others to process. In some instances, completing the necessary
checks can take a considerable period of time. It is not possible,
therefore to provide you with a more definite answer.

May 2018 when asked about Sham Marriages
Thank you for your email. As previously advised, your application for
naturalisation continues to be processed. If further documentation and/or
clarification of any matter related to your application is required from
you, we will write to you requesting it.
Please Note each application is assessed on an individual basis and the
amount of time gathering all the necessary information varies from
application to application. While it is not possible to give an exact
timeframe, this office will be in touch as soon as a decision has been
reached.

Although you are free to write what you want

but contacting justice about "fake marriages" or other controversial topics :?:

Are you trying to get approval or increase suspicion around your case depending on their procdeures. No one with a normal marriage would be worried about it .

I would imagine the only reason they asked is that they have started working on your file and probably a decision will be made very soon. If you have what they are looking for, I wouldn’t hesitate in sending it over to them in order to get the stress off your shoulder.

Hello, my wife applied for naturalisation based on her marriage to me, an Irish spouse living in Northern Ireland where she has been residing for almost 5 years. She sent all of required documents back in June 2017 and almost one year later we have had no result, just copy and paste replies via email stating that it’s still being processed 🙄😏

Guys !

Any update for 2016 delayed applications? Does anybody knows if there is any ceremony soon or will be in November? Seems like department is not working at all on old applications and delaying for no serious backgrounds, It's actually very unfair the long wait is really painful. Any suggestions/advises would be appreciated. I haven't heard anything from them since last February which was passport returned along with 2nd stage letter.

I think they only start sending approvals near to the ceremony ie after announcing ceremony date. However someone had posted in one of the timelines that he received his approval in last week of may ie one week after the ceremony.
