Marriage on a Tier 2 ICT - Scotland

Post by nickptaylor85 » Mon Jun 11, 2018 6:37 pm

Hi Everyone,

I am currently working in Scotland on a Tier 2 Visa and my Fiance is a UK resident. We have our wedding booked for November 17. I have been married before and she has not. I assume that when we give our notice to marry that it will be referred to the Home Office as I am a Canadian. If that's the case, how soon do you think we should submit our notice to marry to the register office?

After the Registrar notifies the Home Office of your intention to marry, the registration period could be extended from 28 to 70 days. Although the HO may choose not to extend, you should allow for this.
