The author points out that even skilled Britons are leaving this nation, the quality of life is just not as good as elsewhere. The cost of living is high because of unnecessary government expenses - like the poorly implemented and easily abused welfare system.

Also, the insecurity they illegally burdened us with (HSMP and ILR rule changes) is unforgivable.

"Provide long term visa security to highly skilled migrants. Brtain remains the only country with a skilled migration program where the permanent residence in the country is not guaranteed and the visa extension can be refused any time if the skilled migrant has not been able to obtain the right kind of job matching his or her skills. No other country has such a scary system of skilled migration."
