ILR - Overseas Stay

Post by SandyGarg » Thu Jun 14, 2018 10:35 pm

Hello All,

I am pregnant and would like to go to India for the delivery as I have no one in UK to help me post delivery. I am thinking of flying early July this year should be back to UK in Dec 2018 i.e. will be away for roughly 6 months.

I just received my FLR on a spouse dependent visa and will be applying for ILR in Dec 2020.

I have a query regarding overseas stay. For how long in a year and in total can I stay overseas (in my case this is roughly 6 months) so that it does not affect my ILR application in Dec 2020?

Look forward for an early reply!

Regards,
Sandy

Moved to the "Immigration for Family Members" forum as the question has nothing to do with British citizenship and is about absence requirements for FLR(M) holders.

At the moment there is no absence threshold under spouse visa route but heavy absence can affect the cohabitation which is mandatory.
The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.
