Lost BRP - how soon do I get it?

Hi - I lost my BRP in May and applied for a new one on 2nd June. Money got deducted the next day and since then I am waiting for my passport and BRP. I hear that it will take 8 weeks to get it. And I have a medical emergency back home in India and I need to travel asap! is there an alternate for me? Do people get it earlier or a number where can I call and check status? This is a dire straits and will appreciate any suggestions please.

It can take up to 8 weeks, sometimes a bit longer.

No status update checking service as far as I am aware.
