HSMP extemsion now Tier1?

Post by yarons » Sat May 03, 2008 7:06 pm

Hello,

I will be eligible for ILR in Feb 2009 and my current HSMP expires on Apr 2009. However, with all the rumors of the rules changing once again, I want to take no chances and get my HSMP extension for 3 years.

Am I right that I now need to apply for Tier1 which has the same point system as the old HSMP?
Plus, I presume one can extend the HSMP whenever one wants to, providing he has enough points. Am I right in this assumption?

Many thanks!

It will be better if you have something in writing from the BIA office saying that you can apply for an extension anytime you wish. Found the following post wherein BIA seems to have a different view.

Thanks for your reply.

I was able to talk to customer service of tier1 and they clarified 2 points:

1. I should not apply 6 weeks prior to my HSMP expiry.

2. If form is not having enough blocks for university name then write some part of university in shortform (abbv) and mention in cover letter. Thats what you have also mentioned.

Ok then i am going for Naric valuation, thanks for your suggestions.
