I was positively surprised it all went through so fast. Just over a month! Also, the approval and ceremony letters arrived on the same day. Ceremony was already pre-booked for me for next week.

** Originally my NCS appointment was in March. However on balance I decided not to apply at the time because there seemed to be no flexibility in the application process to understand that the Statement of Comparability I submitted during my HSMP application can be referred to for the Naturalisation application. Unfortunately I didn't have a copy on hand (not that it would have helped - they wanted the 'Original' - yes - the same Original they kept with them as part of the HSMP application!) and so I decided to spend some more money and time to get a fresh Statement of Comparability done - better to spend ~£200 and five weeks than to waste £1300
