Hello,

I'm an IT professional with 17+ years experience. I wish to work & settle in any of the good country in western Europe viz; Ireland, Germany, Netherlands, France, Sweden, Swiss, etc.

Can someone pls. help me with my options here?

I know this a very broad & generic query. I'm happy to answer any queries to clarify my Query.

OP should look into EU BLUE CARD.

This is issued super easily for professionals in the field of STEM with solid job offers exceeding a certain income threshold, which is not hard to do given the high salaries in Berlin, Amsterdam.

No language knowledge is necessary but I think a higher education degree is needed, as well as a job offer.

OP could also apply for a job seeker's visa from Germany which is valid 6 months and extend in Germany later on once the OP finds a qualifying job.

Any forum or board where I can look for more info on this viz; overall process, possibilities & job market - as I need to be prepared for the worst case scenario, that is If I don't find a job in 6 months
Also, can I do survival job during those 6 months while I'm hunting for a job maching my profile?

Blue card:

Google "country name German embassy".
Go to their webpage and read the requirements for "Blue card".
Then get an appointment and apply with the listed documents.

It is very simple and straight forward. You will be given a 180 visa to enter Germany and look for jobs in person.

Otherwise Google Netherlands and German companies for jobs and simply apply.
They are looking for all sorts of workers and if you are good at what you do, you should be able to find a job very very easily.

Regarding EU Blue card country Germany I will go n read the guidelines for sure though just one question before I do that. Are non EEA members eligible for EU Blue card?
Regrading Jobs in Netherlands n Germany I have been applying for last few months through job portals. I'm getting good no of calls due to my strong profile of 18 years of IT exp but eyerytime it just comes n stops at sponsorship

Only non-EEA citizens are eligible. EEA citizens can of course move around and live and work in any EEA member-state without a visa (freedom of movement).

For advice on the procedure of applying for an EU Blue card in Germany, you can also try the German government hotline and the Federal Employment Agency's website.

Hi. Are you experienced with the Blue Card programme? I registered, paid the fees including the credential verification service and was "approved" but only given access to a job database. I was issued no "card" or other documentation. Some now say its a scam. Do you think I did something wrong?

Blue Card is not just for Germany.
On one of the links it even says "The EU Blue Card applies in 25 of the 28 EU countries".

You just need a well paying job in a STEM field and also must show qualifications.

Yes Blue Card is EU-wide. Just saying the vast vast majority of them are issued in Germany for some reason. e.g. over 12,000 for Germany vs. 600 in France.
