Initial Application - with or without Dependents

Hi all,

Newbie here. I am applying through T1 (200k) route as part of Entrepreneur team. We are in the final stages of submitting our application.

Between the two of us, we have 5 dependents. Our consultant has advised us to initially apply for Principal Applicants only and once our application is successful to apply later seperately for dependents. We are concerned about:

a) How this might affect our initial application - if at all.
b) Depending on success of initial application, how soon can we apply for our dependents prior to going to UK?
c) If the dependent application takes long, can we get an extension for our first visit to UK so that entire family can go together?
d) Is it better to apply from UK for dependents?

a) How this might affect our initial application - if at all. Don't think it makes much of a difference as far as the rules are concerned. If there is an interview, you will probably be asked about it.
b) Depending on success of initial application, how soon can we apply for our dependents prior to going to UK? Immediately
c) If the dependent application takes long, can we get an extension for our first visit to UK so that entire family can go together?You can request but up to HO to agree. Given the general difficulty in contacting them and their response time, it is risky.
d) Is it better to apply from UK for dependents? They have to apply from outside UK assuming they don't have any other visa to be in UK

Would you know usually how long it takes for dependents to get visa if principal applicant has already received an approval?
