Switching Jobs on Tier-2

Post by rosysud123 » Wed Jul 04, 2018 11:51 pm

Hi All,

I have a very specific question with respect to switching jobs on Tier-2 General VISA. Let's say I have one offer from a company A who is willing to sponsor, and have obtained a COS for me. Within the period that company A obtains the COS, and I apply for VISA, If I get another offer, from a company B, will I still be able to accept the offer with company B? What are the legal implications(if any) for this situation?

Thanks in advance,

Regards,
Rose.

It is certainly legal. But starting on the job B may take you longer than expected because I don't think you can have multiple live COS for the same person in the system. I can easily imagine it becoming a long and painful process if the company A does not cooperate. OTOH, if you do get your Tier 2 visa and start at company A, their COS is spent and cannot hold up the process any more.

Company B cannot assign you a CoS unless Company A cancels your CoS or the CoS has been used to apply for a visa.
