Simplied Form for Skilled Worker

Post by whitegrim » Wed Apr 02, 2008 12:17 pm

Hi,

Can someone give me information about filling the Simplified Form for the Skilled Worker immigration. I am a fresh graduate and looking to apply for candian immigration as a Skilled Worker as I am an engineer.
I also went through the form and found out that I have to write the information regarding my experience and language. Now my question is that I havent done anything yet regarding the language and still early in my job, so what should I fill in? I am planning to do language courses later this year after applying and also will hopefully have 4 years of experience when I will get the call for submitting the documents. But what should I fill now? Will this matter when I will be submitting my documents? Will my points be based on the simplified form I fill or later on the supporting documents I will be sending? I will be very grateful to you if someone could help me out.

You are supposed to meet the minimum points criteria of 67 and financial requirements when you submit the simplified application. You should fill in this form as is your situation at time of this initial application.

When you get your update letter, that is the time to add anything else in - if you meet the 67 poionts on application anything additional is a bonus.

Bear in mind new rules which may come into force post Feb 08 - they could be cherry-picking people with desired jobs and experience and not processing the rest.

I personally would get youself in the best possible position regarding experience and language and then apply. The idea is that the proposed changes would reduce waiting times for applications post Feb 08 (they still have to clear the 5-year queue first though).
