Marrying an EEA national (Greek)

Hello guys,

I'm engaged to an European and we are thinking about getting married now. Issue is that I'm an overstayer of more than 10 years and have currently a Human Rights application (not hopeful) at the Home Office - I came to the country underage by my parent's decision. Can I still get married to my fiancee pending on the above mentioned points ? He is Greek if that helps!

To marry in the UK, you need both your passports and you have to give 28 days notice at an HO approved Registry office. They then inform HO and the 28 days could be extended to 70 days for HO to investigate and/or interview each of you separately before you are granted permission to marry.

How long have you been in a relationship with the EU citizen?

Do you live together and if yes, for how long?

Is the EU citizen only Greek or British citizen as well?

Thanks! We don't live together. We go to the same university for over 3 years now and we have had a great relationship. I'm also a guy so that'll fall under same-sex marriage. He is only Greek. Been living in UK for these 3 years.
