Indian Citizen:Got HSMP Approval while in US:Next Steps??

Post by vikban » Tue May 13, 2008 12:32 pm

I am indian citizen. I applied for HSMP on 28th Feb 2008. (Just before new rules) . I am in US on deputation from September 2007. I showed my indian salary income for HSMP and requested to use that for prorata basis.
I got approved. But I am unsure on next steps:

1) Can I apply VISA from US?
2) If yes, Do I need to show recent bank statements of US to prove enough money in my account to support myself ?
3) Should I use old VAF2 Forms ?
4) Do I again need to submit certified salary slips from my HR for Feb2008 till now ..

Can anyone please guide me .

Thanks a lot

Did you apply for HSMP from the US? What did you mention as your current address in the application - US or India?

Assuming that you are in the US on a visa category other than a tourist/business visa (e.g.- H1B), you should be able to apply for your EC from US itself.
Suggest you check with the BHC in US directly ... and also search the forum for feedback from people in similar situation as yours.
