It is not 180 days total in the 5 years. Absence limit rules were changed earlier this year, link below. ANY absence of 180 days or more in ANY 12 month rolling period will result in being ineligible for ILR as the rules stand now (and they change often).Sorry to but I know the 180 days max leaves in 5 years
