spouse visa application

Post by r_majid » Mon Aug 13, 2018 2:21 pm

Hi

I am submitting a spouse visa application for my husband who is in Islamabad.
I have completed all the online application form and the VAF form.
I know that once I complete the online form I should submit it and then book an appointment.
Can someone please advise me on what documnets my husband needs to take to the appointment in Islamabad and what documents I will need to send to Sheffield.

Many Thanks

thanks for your reply

so he does not need the application form to take with him?
I heard he will have to take passport, passport photos, application form, proof of submission of online application. is this not true?

Application for settlement spouse visa

Post by r_majid » Tue Aug 14, 2018 6:46 pm

Hey I have just submitted the online application and paid the fee. I have also paid fee for the IHS.

Application Fee - £1688.38
IHS Fee - £665.15

Are these correct?

I was assuming them to be less then these.

Many thanks

What you pay depends on where you are and the exchange rate HO uses

No it is not an interview when he attends the centre to submit his application!!

Interview if they happen occur later and HO will send a notification if one is needed. Not all applicants or UK spouses are interviewed.

Relationship, sponsor employment and income and address. General questions that only the spouse applicant would likely know.

Your application fee and ihs fee doesn't match. Ihs is 200/year while fee is approx 650 for 3 years and approx 1250 for 5 years.

The OP is asking about a spouse settlement visa and NOT a PBS dependent visa. They have completely different fees and visa validity.

It should tell you in the online application process where to send the documents in Sheffield.

This is what was sent in the appointment confirmation email.

If you are in the United States of America, you must send these documents to the visa issuing office as detailed in the information provided at the Application Support Centre and on your Appointment Confirmation email/letter. No personal callers will be admitted to the visa office location and your application will not be accepted at any other location. Failure to submit the required documents will result in a delay and/or lead to the refusal of your application.
Non-settlement, EEA and Returning Resident Applications - UK Visas and Immigration, British Consulate General, 845 Third Avenue, New York, 10022
Settlement (Family Migration) Applications - International Operations and Visas, 6 Millsands, Vulcan House, Sheffield, United Kingdom, S3 8NU
IMPORTANT – Please ensure that you submit a full printed copy of your online application which must be signed and dated and contain a bar code on the first page - if no bar code is present you will need to change the security settings on your computer.

but the one I got after submitting was

settlement applications, international operations and visas, 6 millsands Vulcan house, Sheffield, S3 8NH, United Kingdom

therefore I am confused.

This paragraph above clearly states it is for NON-SETTLEMENT, EEA and Returning Resident applications - NOT relevant to your spouse visa application which IS a settlement visa application.

settlement applications, international operations and visas, 6 millsands Vulcan house, Sheffield, S3 8NH, United Kingdom

It is this one!

That is besides the fact that it is the same office for both addresses just different departments.

How long do you have to send documents to Sheffield.

I heard it's 14 days, please could you confirm if this is 14 days after online submission or 14 days after biometric appointment in Pakistan.

Thanks you.
