About English requirement

Post by jimmymcad » Wed May 14, 2008 10:55 am

Can you guys suggest me on this:

1. I am on HSMP from Sep 2007 till sep 2009. For the english requirement, i have submitted my IELTs report. As IELTS only valid for 2 years, by the time i will apply for my extension, IELTS will expire, Do i have to re-take IELTS or i am exempted from English requirement. As I have read on the website

Applicants will be awarded 10 points for English Language if:

* They were granted permission to stay under a Tier
1 category (other than investors where there is no English language
requirement) and are applying for an extension; or

* They were granted permission to stay as a Highly
Skilled Migrant Programme holder under the immigration rules which
came into force on 5 December 2006, and are applying for an
extension under Tier 1 category.

Please suggest.

You don't have to take the IELTS exam again. But will probably need to send thr IELTS report along with the extension application (check the Tier 1 form).
