Born and raised in UK register or naturalize?

Hello all,

I'm 21 years old born and raised in the UK however I don't qualify as British as my parents weren't settled at the time of my birth. My parents didn't bother to sort out things for me other than ilr when I was ten. I'm not sure why I wasn't registered I'm assuming it was due to lack of money.
As I no longer want to be a prisoner in this country with no passport I've decided to take the necessary steps. I think I qualify to register seeing as I lived in the UK for 10 years after birth with no periods of absence however I think I also qualify for naturalisation as I've held and ilr for over 10 years. So what I'm asking is which is the best route to take? I'm not sure if there's a difference in processing time but I know that registering is slightly cheaper plus no life in the UK test.

If you were born in the UK and lived here for the first ten years of your life, you have an entitlement (i.e. cannot be refused) to be registered as a british citizen.

For you, registration is an entitlement and you only need to meet the good character requirements.

Naturalisation is always at discretion and has more requirements (physical presence, no of absences, English test, LITUK test, etc).

I would suggest that you get registered.

I'm also in the same situation as you too. I've chosen to do it via registration and have just started my application. Would you be able to post a timeline on here once you've applied so I can have a rough idea of processing time at the moment? Currently struggling to find enough supporting documents to send too, it's a hassle looking for things between 0-10 years but hoping to get it sent off soon!
