Can baby return to UK after holiday with just UK birth cert + Malaysian Passport?

I really hope someone here can help or share their experiences (which would be really helpful and appreciated!).

Can baby return to UK after holiday with just UK birth cert + Malaysian Passport?

My wife and I work in London and are both Malaysian with Indefinite Leave to Remain. We now have a baby who has a new Malaysian Passport.

If we go for holiday out of the UK in two week’s time, then come back into the UK, how can I ensure that immigration at the airport won’t stop my baby from entering? Obviously, for my wife and I, this is not a problem since we have ILR but my baby just have his Malaysian Passport and his UK birth certificate.

Please, please help. Thank you.

No. You must either register the baby for British citizenship or get ILR for the baby before you travel.
