British Nationality application for my Dependents

Hi Respected Gurus,

My family (wife + 3 children) got ILR in May 2018 through Tier 1 G Dependent route. I am British National.

My query is:

- Does my family needs to wait for 12 months to apply for Naturalization?
- Can my wife apply as Spouse of British national before May 2019?
- Can my children apply before May 2019? If yes, though which rules?

I just wanted to clarify that I am not British national by descent. I have been granted passport in September 2018 through naturalization by T1 General route. Also, none of my children were born in UK. They have been living here in UK since 2013.

In light of above, can you kindly confirm which application form form should I need to fill, if I need to process for their naturalization before May 2019 ?

Form MN1 as I have already stated and they apply under seciton 3(1) of the nationality act, which is an application at discretion by the HO as the children are born abroad. Both your spouse and children can apply now.

Children are not required to wait 12 months (neither is your wife) if one parent is British and the other holds ILR. When you got your citizenship or how, is irrelevant.

Note that children are REGISTERED as British. Only adults are naturalised.
