Switch from Tier 2 dependent to Tier 4 Child

Hello, towards the end of my Tier 2 ICT visa tenure, I would like to switch to a Tier 4 Child visa for my son, so he can continue his education in an UK Independent Boarding school and until I return to the UK with a Tier 2 General/ICT Visa again. Will this be allowed? Can the child switch and continue to stay without the need to serve a cooling off period? Thanks!
