Could payslips be used as proof of address?

Post by eastwood » Fri Oct 05, 2018 1:24 pm

Hi All,

Just wondering could we use original payslips as proof of address to cover some months in two years? Without those there seems to be a 8 months gap for my wife’s proof of address within 2 years. Many thanks.

I don’t believe so, they need to be official documents from utility companies, NHS, HMRC, local council etc
My comments do not constitute immigration advice, if in doubt consult an immigration adviser/solicitor

Thank you for your reply.

In that case, is it OK to leave a gap of 8 months-ish in two years proof of address? Because she really doesn’t have anything for those 8 months....we don’t have anything in joint names. many thanks.

Payslips must be accepted as proof of address apart of meeting financial requirement. The examples given on form doesn't mean that the documents for proof of address should only be one of them rather they just giving example.
The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.

Anything with your name/names, date and postal address will be accepted as proof of co-habitation.

Please don't send me PMs asking for immigration advice on posts that are on the open forum. If I haven't responded there, it's because I don't have the answer. I'm a moderator, not a legal professional.
