Help with naturalisation application-your Person ID Number

Dear All,

My wife is applying for her naturalization based on spouse of Irish citizen. In the application form the question 2.8 is "YOUR PERSON ID NUMBER".

I am not sure what is the person ID. On the GNIB card / Passport stamps / Visa stickers any of them do not reflect person ID. Where can i find that ?

If you look on her GNIB card you will see Dept No:(person ID) and the number is underneath it starts with 69/XXXXXX/XX.

However, your info is not correct. I have searched for it and below explains what is person ID:

Person Identity Number, eg 123456-16

A Person Identity Number has 2 parts, eg 123456-16:

123456: This first part identifies you
16: This second part identifies the year you first applied to INIS, eg 16 = 2016

person id usually the number its in your justice letter..
i filled out my form and went show in citizenship help centre and the lady said to me ive to use the dept no..
she corss the person id number put dept no from GNIB..
i told its not person id she said she is working here very long they always use the dept no in the form..
so i took the person id from the justice letter and put dept no from gnib card..
i was thinking like same as you and did google and get the same answer..
actually i went to i was so confused about person ID..

Person ID is NOT dept no.

A person ID assigned to you when you contact INIS for the first time for an immigration related matter. If you have been on the normal standard route (work permit, then stamp 4 from work permit etc). you will not have contacted INIS, so you won’t have one.

Below is the official reply from INIS when I asked them about this:

You may not have a Person ID Number and if not,
it is acceptable to leave Q2.8 blank as a Person Id will be assigned to you once your application is received by this office.
