Not a single NDRS appointment available within 200 miles...

Hi,

I've just submitted the online AN application for citizenship.
I cannot part with my documents as I travel all the time for work. So I then went to try and book the Nationality Document Return Service... only to find that there is NOT A SINGLE APPOINTMENT available in the next 10 days in any of the councils that I can reach within 4 hours of travel from home. NOT ONE!

What is going on?
How am I supposed to go about this now?

Guys, first take an appointment, then submit online application a couple of days before your date.

Sorry to hear that - Merton Council (in London) offers a walk-in. Check their website for details. It may not be close to where you live but it is an option. Else call nearby councils and see if there are any cancelled appointments.

As it is the case with almost all Home Office decisions & processes, the NDRS system is also poorly thought through - the case now is that you have to get an NDRS appointment before you submit your application while it is supposed to be the other way around.

Had the same issue with mine. I called my council Hertfordhsire Council in August and they told me NDRS services have been scrpped after i had submitted my documents online. As i work in Reading, i decided to book it in Reading Council and managed to submit my 2 days after the online application.
