Hi Guys,

I have applied for FLR FP (As Parent) via Solicitor

Date of Submision: 21/9/2018

Its been 27 days almost 1 month, No fees deducted,No acknowledgement, No Letter for Biometrics.

Is this normal ?
probably your lawyer lied to you, that he has submitted, home office take money immediately they receive your application, at least within 7 days not 27 days, its not normal, contact your lawyer back and tell him to show u the proof of submission, if it's true he submitted that particular day, then your lawyer needs to call home office if I doubt he submitted at that particular time, and again ready to wait for at least 9 months too one year for a decision.thank you

@omo2323 my thoughts exactly. I’ve called him about a week ago saying I had not received any acknowledgment. But he said “oh it takes time you have to be patient”

It’s very upsetting why would he lie ?

Don’t know what to do now

nowadays you dont get acknowledged letter separately, you get it with the biometric letter, maximum 3 weeks of the day you submitted your application, pls just go to the lawyer and ask for a proof of submission, before you can take any further action, if he or she did not submit that particular day he told you,you can report him or his or her firm to the lawyer organisation for a sanction, most lawyer have destroyed many applications with there negligence, assuming the visa is about to expire, this is how they will destroy the person visa....pls go to ur lawyer is that ur mind can be at rest.thank u

Well, just maybe as all cases are different they don't follow the standard rules....I did my application in June, got acknowledgement/biometricsetter in September.
I was worried as my lawyer told me it takes time and I have also read some cases here too;in my worries I got in touch with my Mp to speak to them.Got a letter from my Mp stating the reply he got from the hone office-that i am known to them and they have my application that they would treat the application(Trust the HO to use their usual "promptly")

Got both ack/Biometrics letter in September,so that is exactly 3months after they got the application that was signed for.

In your case I would suggest you ask your solicitor how he sent it,if it's a recorded deliver you can track and be certain it's there. If it's not a recorded deliver and you don't have a reference number already I am afraid it might be difficult chasing the bundle in the HO.

Speak to your lawyer,if he is reluctant to give you further info, then you can report him to the body that deals with legal reps.

Sounds just about right, to be honest. I don't want to believe anyone would mess with their client's application that badly. There just does not seem to be any sense in doing that. What would the lawyer gain exactly?

Does anyone know the answer to the following question.

"Is an overstayer allowed to use the NHS once they have paid the IHS fee as part of their application for leave to remain, can they use it while their application is pending or can they only use it when granted leave to remain?"

If anyone knows the answer it would be a great help! Thanks

No, you cannot however if you have an accident (A&E) then NHS will treat you, it's the normal procedure weather you have paid or not.

That’s right I m under treatment for my eye in hospital .when our visa expired and we applied for flr they started charging us although we paid £500 ihs fee.but they can do monthly instalment for you .Hope that’s helps
Will they refuse you straight away if you have an NHS debt or only if you made no effort to pay it after being? I have no NHS debt but I just want to know what would happen in that situation.

Hi,

I will advice that you should be prepared to wait a long time. You may be lucky and get a response soon, however, alot of people have been waiting for a long time. I applied since October last year and still waiting. So please be patient.

I laughed, just may u applied and u have started complaining, the standard application time is between 6 months and 9 months, can even escalate till a year it depends on your type of ur application and your key worker at the home office ,so my dear,u have not even wait 6months and u have started complaining, some submitted since January, even late last year and they are still waiting, even a renewed stays take longer time, I got someone who has been waiting since march for a renewal, yet to get his visa back,my advised wait till February next year before u can start to complain.thank you

Hi Jin022

People here are waiting for a long time. Some cases around 14 months other a bit less. I believe depending on the case really. I have sent my application in October last year so that's 12 months now. I have recently sent further documents in which HO said they would make a decision 'promptly' but it has now been 5 weeks and nothing.

Wait until you get confirmation from HO that they received your application and also they will ask you for biometrics. It will then be a matter of waiting..

Not sure, I am married but mine is one year this month. Additional document sent for about 7 weeks now. I think it depends on the case worker and the work load. What must have also contributed is the online application. Goodluck everyone

My partner friend’s wife, she came in uk on student visa in 2016 .she got married with him and had baby boy last year 2017 .applied online by her self on 11 September 2018 FLR .she got visa on 6 0ctober2018 10 year partner route xx .it waz soooo quick 🙏🙏🙏
This is really interesting! Lucky her. But I guess being married made all the difference, in comparison with my case, for instance.

Not sure, I am married but mine is one year this month. Additional document sent for about 7 weeks now. I think it depends on the case worker and the work load. What must have also contributed is the online application. Goodluck everyone
When I read things like 'one year', my heart skips a beat. :) :)

Would you mind sharing your timeline?
