Do I need to send my physical passport for certificate name change

Hi all,

Finally got my citizenship to my excitement and then to only to realise on the day of recieving my certificate that they spelled my surname without the umlaut even though I specified it on the application about 5 times as well as the checking service

Anyway I'm needing to send the application off to get it changed and I was wondering if I need to send my actual passport or just a copy ?

My understanding is that HO don't print names with special characters in names/surnames. Passports aren't either.

They don't do on passports but as far as I'm aware they do on certificates as my brother's has the umlaut on it and he didn't apply that long before me
