Warning letter about seized goods

Post by Maciejhype5 » Thu Oct 25, 2018 2:34 am

Hello everyone, im new here. Sorry if the topic is in wrong place (and sorry for my english).

Today i flew from Poland to London luton. I was carrying few kilos of polish legal tobbaco. I was taken to customs, they interview me about tobbaco and didnt believed that is for my personal use becouse i had return ticket for same day (i brought it for me and my friends who live there and i will come back there in few days). They gave me warning letter about seized goods and a seizure information notice with notice 1 and notice 12a issued, they took whole tobbaco and let me free. It was my first time with customs. They said its a warning for me for first time and next time will be with some more serious consequences. I also asked about paying some penalty or something and they told me i won’t pay anything but i have read in internet that they can send some letter to Poland with duty to pay.

So my question is: will i pay something for this tobbaco or i have some other consequences? What can i do ?

This isn't an immigration issue, and I don't believe there are many members here with experience of this scenario. You just have to wait for any further communications - presumably they have your full address. Potentially this may flag up against your name when you next enter the UK.
This is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.
Please do not send me private messages asking for advice.

Not on an Immigration forum
(Casa, not CR001)
Please don't send me PMs asking for immigration advice on posts that are on the open forum. If I haven't responded there, it's because I don't have the answer. I'm a moderator, not a legal professional.
