1st UPDATE

I contacted HMPO in order to guage the progress of my application. I was told that they received the passport application on the 30th August. The lady I spoke to says once the Home Office is through with their checks it's then passed to them. (Don't know how accurate this info is)

On the 7th September I received a letter stating that they were unable to process passport fee, so paid over the phone.

Praying that I'll be able to update with some good news soon.

2nd UPDATE

Approval ☺after 2 months and a couple of weeks. The anxiety of waiting makes it feel like forever. Thanks to all the moderators and members who have contributed. I was able to complete 2 major applications to the Home Office, by myself with the help of the forum. God bless!

3rd UPDATE

Ceremony took place yesterday. I have a toddler who was crying through the proceedings, so a private ceremony was indeed the best option for me. The suite that is used by the council is quite small, so I now see why the stipulation regarding one guest per person. The registrar was very pleasant and it was generally a good experience.
