Hello Folks.
Newby here! The answer to my question might well be posted here already but it will take me ages to search for it, I hope you don't mind me starting a new topic to ask and I hope someone can offer some advice.
My wife is on a Spouse / Partner leave to remain residence Permit. This was issued in October 2016 and requires renewal May 2019. Since my wife has joined me in the UK we have had two wonderful baby daughters born in the UK since then.
I am a UK citizen who works abroad on a 28/28 day rotation and I am a full tax paying UK resident, if I continue like this my wife's visa renewal should be routine as this is how it was when the visa was issued.
I have however been offered a new job which would mean my rotation would change dramatically and I could become a 'non - resident' in the eyes of the UK tax authorities. Although it would mean more time apart from my family it would mean a better future for us all due to increased finances. The job I am currently in might be ending shortly anyway and I need to work and provide for my family.
What I would like to ask is that if I became a non-UK resident (still UK citizen) would this effect my wife's LTR extension and potentially residency going forward?
Any advice of feedback would be greatly received.
