None that I have seen or am aware of. Some have sent special delivery prepaid envelopes for supporting docs to be returned and they either have or have not been used.

Remember that it is only a small percentage of applicants that post here.

Regarding the matter of being physically present in the UK 5 years to the day before the application is made, for online applications, is that from the day the online form was submitted or the day of the NDRS appointment or the day the HO receives the paperwork?

I ask because I was absent from 9th - 11th November in 2013 and am slightly worried that my paperwork will be received by the HO on that date even though I completed the online submission this week and my NDRS appointment is for the coming Friday.

The day the online form is submitted is application date, so need have been physically present 5 yrs before that date.

BUT we have not received a letter from the Home Office yet

Is it at all possible / normal? Would appreciate if someone could share some experience here, please.

BTW the passport fee went from our card about 10 days ago, so, if this matters at all, all sounds correct, just surprised to have received a letter from the Council before the letter from the Home Office.

They come separately. HO letter is an A5 brown envelope, looks a bit like junk mail, so make sure you have not discarded it as you need to take it with to the ceremony.
It also might still be on its way.

I just discovered this forum and I am hoping that someone could inform me as I am quite nervous at the moment.

I made my online citizenship and passport application together via JCAP on 24th August 2018. I have completed my biometric through post office on the same day as well.

Two questions - In my online application checklist, english language proof was not listed as one of the requied documents therefore I did not submit my master's degree certificate (from a UK university). However, I noticed in the forum that everyone is submitting english language proof document. In home office website, they also mentioned it but if it did not come up as required documents in the online application form checklist. Did anyone come across with a similar situation before?

Second question - I submitted details of my two referees in the online application form and submitted their signed pages as well. However, person took my application in the council did not tick referee declarations in the list (in the copy that I have been given) . I am 100% sure that I have given declarations. I noticed it after I left the council. Is there anyway that I can check that with Home Office?

By the way, I have been charged for my passport fee on 11.09.2018.

I heard in the past that if home office needs anything or clarification about citizenship application, they contact the applicant. Is this the case? If not, is there anywhere I can contact?

It looks like people applied similar time to me get their results. It made me more nervous...Please advise...

Most people who applied in August seemed to receive their results by now so I am not sure whether this is delaying my process or not. I hope that they also look at ILR appplication details. (I applied ILR roughly one month before my citizenship application ans I submitted my post-graduate degree certificate) Should I send an email to Home Office to check the status of my application and also mention this issue and let them know language proof is available upon request?

Well, after having spent half of the day today on the phone with Home Office help line, who were surprisingly helpful, and having asked our MP to contact HO direct on our behalf - mail has arrived late in the afternoon (it never does, only in the morning) and the letter was in there (dated 24th of October, 2nd of November today). And so, all's good!

I ended up going with Hackney because they let me book an appointment for a later date before submitting online (and they ended up costing less than my own council!).

I can always provide it at a later date if they need the original passport. If you are able to get an NDRS appointment before you travel you will be able to keep your passport and BRP.

Your current and any expired passports covering your qualifying period should be sufficient to prove residence. EU applicants are asked for employment letters because their passports aren't stamped when they enter or exit the UK. Some non-EU applicants submit employment documents anyway.

Lastly, if I am ok to send some originals could I send a mixture of originals and copies of documents?

My understanding is that you won't get much by way of response until 6 months have gone by from submission date, other than it is "In Process"! This is there standard SLA.

I am also led to believe based on forum members responses for your outlined issues, that HO would contact you if there is any problem and they require more documentation/evidence and most certainly, if they are not happy with regards your Referee's.

I would say you just need be patient, as some applicants have waited, months, more than 6 months and some, years.

hellow,i checked u applied on 17thsep 2018,so i assume, ur approval( N SHA ALLAH ) on the way bcz i checked many members threads who got already but had awful replys like wait for 6 months,or file with case worker or a communication will post etc,

HI, Mine is the similar case

My wife applied for naturalisation on October 15th 2018 through NCS service. She applied as a spouse of a British citizen (3 years route) and while applying they did not asked for any salary slips or P60's, however as per section 10 it seems we need to submit them


Do we need to submit them even if they don't ask for it.?

Shall we send the documents now to HO by post.?

SECTION 10 Evidence of National Insurance contributions covering the relevant period:
• payslips
• P60’s
• letter or letters from your employer or employers confirming you have worked in their
employment including start and finish dates

P60s etc are only required as proof of residence in the UK if the applicant's passport isn't stamped on entry/exit from the UK. When I applied online it explained that non-EU/EEA applicants can just submit their passports as evidence of living in the UK, while EU/EEA applicants must submit alternative evidence in the form of employment letters etc.

Your Home Office caseworker should write to you to request those documents if they need them to consider your application.

Interesting. I was unaware that anyone had their passport stamped on leaving UK. I have been wondering how UKVI can be sure that someone has always been in UK without this evidence. Do they rely on stamps for arriving/departing other non-EEA countries? Some countries no longer examine passports let alone put arrival/departure stamps in them. Just curious...
