ILR Application

Post by DaveDas » Tue Nov 13, 2018 3:57 am

Hi,

I'm on a tier two general visa in the UK. I'm due to apply for my Visa in January this year. I'll have completed 5 years on 24th February, but am able to apply as of the 28th of January. Given the new rules, I understand that I need to submit an application online that day, but will have to wait 5 days for an appointment, which means the earliest date I can get an appointment is 4th of February. At the same time, my company's sponsorship for my role runs out on 3rd of February. Will they need to apply for an extension?

Also, I've been out of the UK a lot this year, I travel quite a bit for work. By end of January, I will have been out of the country for 177 days in the last 12 months, and a total of 387 days in the last 5 years, will this be an issue?

Thanks!

It expires in April 2019.

Another question I had is on the online application. Can I travel between the date of handing in the online form and the date of attending my appointment?

Thanks!

If your sponsor ends your employment in February, how will you get the letter stating you are required 'for the foreseeable future and salary of x payable for the foreseeable future'??

They're not ending my employment, it's just that they currently have to sponsor me, whereas from February onwards they shouldn't have to - once I get my ILR. They are hesitant to pay an extra fee for the sponsorship license as it ends on 3rd of February.

Been working with them for 4 years, and am going to continue to do so post gaining ILR, so it's not about them providing the letter, they're more than happy to do so, but just checking if they need to pay the extra fee for sponsorship or if there is a work around, given I'm eligible to apply for ILR on 28 January.
