please.. help needed on hierarchy chart

Post by kcr » Fri Mar 11, 2005 5:44 am

hi all,
I am working in a large company having a number of branches.
Can anyone please tell me how to provide a hierarchy chart? can i submit a hierarchy chart of the branch i am working in? does it have to be given by the employer on the company letter head?or can i do it on my own?

Please give me some guidance in this regard. It will be most helpul,as i am planning to reapply after having been rejected. i got 0 points for work experience for not giving the evidence supporting my graduate level and senior level work experience on the employer letter head paper.

Usually only a hierarchy chart that shows your relative personal position within the company is helpful, e.g., a Department chart, or a small branch chart. What's important to understand is are there employees under your supervision, and if yes - how many.

I don't believe a hierarchy chart in itself would suffice, although helpful, especually if signed by someone in the company. What's necessary is an official job description where graduate / senior functions are explicitly described. Have you provided that in the previous app?

Facing the same problem

Post by saseendra » Fri Mar 11, 2005 1:52 pm

Dear Kcr,

I am also facing the problem. I have claimed points for both graduate level and senior level experience and got rejection. I claimed for 50 points for experience but i got only 25 points. I need 35 poins to get through.

I have to redesign my organisation chart. I think we will have to get it signed by the employer in a letter head. I had submitted my previous aplication in letter head with emloyer signature.

My previous reference letter was signed by GM. Should the new reference letter has to be signed by the same official ? Or it can be signed by the Direcor of the company to get more weightage ?

if any body knows pl. help.

Hi saseendra,
Sorry to hear that you are facing a similar problem. The important point here is that we should provide the references in a way that the case worker can clearly understand the work we do and the seniority position and also only on an employer letter headed paper.
and if we fail to do that (as we have once) we can get rejected inspite of having graduate/senior level work experience.
Infact I did provide a number of other evidences including an official letter from the HR department detailing my tenure and the respective designations on the company letter head. But unfortunately I was not able to provide my duties and responsibilities on the company letter head and was awarded no points for my work experience.
Did you provide a hierarchy chart with your original application?and does your employer reference letter mention the number of employees reporting to you and to whom you were reporting?Could you please share these details? There must be some reason why the HSMP team did not think it was senior level work experience. It might help, to analyse that before reapplying again.
thank you.

senior leveli

Post by saseendra » Sat Mar 12, 2005 7:27 am

Dear KCR,

Yes i do. I had submitted my referene letter and org. chart in company letter head and shown in org. chart the number of people working under me. but the reference letter does not mention about the people working under me. And they said in their decision letter that they did not consider it as senior level position. may be becase the responsibilities, which was shown in the reference letter may not be of a senior level person. now i am planning to resubmit it with fee after elaborating my responsibilities, which was not done earlier?

i have got a number of emails from uk based employers offering me jobs provided i possess a valid work permit. if i enclose those email will they consider it ? What do you think ?
