Limited Leave to Remain Vignette

Hello everyone

My question is; if someone has a “Limited Leave to Remain” Residence Permit vignette on their passport issued for 6 months from February 2012 to Augus 2012, following a failed Indefinite Leave application.
What could that leave possibly be?
No restrictions were noted.

Any input will be highly appreciated
