Fiance visa requirements

Post by Tanzo » Thu May 29, 2008 2:31 pm

Hi everybody,

I would appreciate it very much if someone can help me out .

Me and my girlfriend want to get married. She is Canadian and I'm British. I've look at the offical website and its got me a little confused. It says

1. ' you plan to marry or register a civil partnership within a reasonable time (usually six months)

2. you plan to live together permanently after you are married or have registered a civil partnership '

How does one prove these points. We plan to get married at the registrars office but the registrars can not accept a 'Notice of marriage' until the overseas counterpart is in the country?

I have a house and we plan on living there together but how does one prove this?

Thank you all.
