Subject Access Processing Time

Post by SFME » Thu Nov 29, 2018 10:47 pm

Hello

I would like to know how long do the Home Office usually take to process a Subject Access Request for specific documents?
Thanks in advance :)

There are 3 types of SAR. Basic,Specific, and then Detailed. I’m asking about the specific type of SAR where you can request for up to 5 documents from the HO files.
Thanks for replying

What is it that you are trying to establish or get from HO??

Your previous posts indicate that you have ILR and have applied recently for a spouse visa

Well I don’t have an ILR that is why I’m intending to apply for a spouse Visa from outside the UK soon (hence my recent post), it’s my husband who has the ILR.
In this post I’m asking for my brother in law who wants to apply for an ILR soon on grounds of long residence in the UK and he has a couple missing documents necessary for his application so he applied for a specific SAR. He doesn’t use the internet a lot so I thought to ask for him on here..

Useful to state 'Asking on behalf of .....' when you post for someone else!!

Set LR requires minimal documents. What exactly is he missing??

I don’t know the exact documents but I know that he used to have a spouse Visa then he and his wife got divorced and he subsequently got some Leave based on the fact that his children are British. He lost an old passport and the first leave letter but he still has the most recent extension letter. He is applying for a SAR and we just wanted to know an estimate time frame.

He doesn't need evidence of his visas or letters from HO. they will know what they have issued him.

He needs evidence of residence for the whole period that he has lost his passport for, such as bank statements, P60s, council tax, drs letters, etc etc.
