Not sure if there is a difference between “final approval” and “final decision”. But this is what DiceDan wrote a few weeks ago. No report from him to indicate his FBR is complete.DiceDan wrote: ↑Wed Oct 31, 2018 11:03 am27th September - Dublin emailed requesting a notarised copy of passport, shortly followed up with another email saying they had my notarised copy after all and application is complete and submitted for final approval. It should take 6 – 8 weeks from now before you receive everything back.
Still nothing so far! I guess that the reduced staff is causing it to take longer now because I would have thought to have heard something by now based on earlier timelines a few months ago.
Congratulations! FWIW, the date on my FBR is 26 July, the cover letter was dated 9 August, and I received it by post on 16 August. Since your documents were submitted to the London embassy, they will likely be sent to the embassy before they are sent to you.
Michael, I note that you received conformation of receipt of your application on 8/21, so 3ish months ago or 101 days ago from today. The DFA do state in their correspondence that applications take up to 6 months to process, so it does seem like you are at the halfway mark through their stated processing time, so possibly a little way off getting it yet.
No, nothing yet.
I've seen previous posts from people who applied with siblings at the same time - but not separately. There is no published set of requirements for siblings of people who are already in the FBR. So I think you have to think about how this might make it easier for DFA. You can send them a message and ask them if your information would help.

8th July: Applied online : 8th July
20th July: Documents Received by London Embassy
7th November : E-mail from DFA requesting clarification re: marriage cert (Grandmother) and additional document
8th November : Additional Documents Sent to DFA in Ireland
12th November: Documents Received by DFA
15th November : E-mail from DFA confirming application approved and forwarded for FBR certificate printing
6th December : Certificate arrived in the post (via London Embassy)
5 Months in total
It did not arrive with a passport application form but I read earlier that PasadenaTom had requested a passport form before getting the certificate. I requested a form from London Embassy when Dublin advised I was confirmed in the register and the passport form arrived on the 4th Dec. So, I would recommend that once you get the e-mail confirmation of FBR entry, that you contact your embassy for a passport form.
All the best to those still awaiting, particularly Michael123.
You're 112 days in now (just about 4 months) - only 2-3 weeks off what I saw as the average processing time for US applicants, so you might hear something before Christmas, you might not until the new year. If you are desparate, why don't you give them a call. That's a sure fire way to find out the actual statusMichael123 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 11, 2018 3:09 amSean015, Spav.... anything, anything at all? Not getting any news is crushing my hopes of this happening before Christmas! I check my email before pulling the blankets off me and at this point, Im checking my junk folder too!
