Chances of getting Tier 2 dependent Visa

Post by uknewbie30 » Sat Dec 22, 2018 4:34 pm

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone can help provide guidance on my chances of getting a tier 2 dependent visa.

The main applicant is my long-time girlfriend of 4.5 years who received a tier 2 ICT visa for 5 years. We have lived together for 3 years. We have apartment leases and apartment insurance documents with both of our names on the documents. We also have many bank and utility bills addressed to each of us separately but at the address we both live at. We also have plenty of pictures/texts of us traveling together, celebrating birthdays, and other couple things.

What are your thoughts?

In your other post, you state you already hold a Tier 2 Dependent visa based on your wife holding an ICT visa??

Hi, I am currently on a Tier 2 dependent visa for the next 2 years. The main Tier 2 holder is my wife who has a Tier 2 ICT visa. I plan on enrolling in an MBA program for the 2019/20 intake. I believe I can study on a tier 2 dependent visa (if I am mistaken please let me know).

But what I am worried about is if for any reason my wife loses her Tier 2 ICT visa while I am in the middle of my MBA program will I able to switch to a Tier 4 student visa while remaining in the UK to finish up my study?

My fear is spending a lot of money for the MBA program and then not being able to finish due to a visa issue.

Hi CR001 - appreciate all your help! True - I did say that, however I thought it would be best to keep the topics separate as they are in regards to different visas. Regarding the visa switch post, I assumed I would get the tier 2 dependent visa. But I wanted to get everyone's thoughts on my chances of getting the tier 2 dependent visa here.

Also, I said wife, instead of girlfriend, in the other thread to reduce confusion around my eligibility to have a tier 2 dependent visa. I apologize if I caused any confusion, I am new to the threads but just thought this would be the easiest way to explain (perhaps not...)

I should add that her company is already processing my tier 2 dependent visa alongside hers. It might complicate things to tell them I don't need the dependent visa anymore. Also in the long run, I think the tier 2 dependent visa is better than a tier 4 student visa because I can work after graduation without company sponsorship.
