Visitor overstaying

Post by Jlee » Mon Dec 24, 2018 7:38 pm

Hi, my visitor visa is valid until the 27th of december and I do not intend to overstay my visit as I know it is a criminal offence however because I miscarried on Christmas eve, the doctor at A&E will not let me fly, I suppose the airline too won’t accept me as I am a risk in flight for bleeding. They will see me again on the 27th of december because most of the clinics are closed during Christmas period and unfortunately could not squeeze me in for scans to confirm until after the 27th.

Does UK have a grace period for situations like mine? Do I have to apply for another visitor visa?
I have always complied with rules whenever I visit another country but I have no ideas on what they will do to me because I overstayed.

Thank you people, Merry Christmas.

Hello there

So sorry to hear about your emergency.. I hope you're holding up okay

Best thing to do is to read through this..https://www.gov.uk/standard-visitor-vis ... -your-visa

It's an online form so would suggest you act on this ASAP to avoid future issues. Just make sure you have written evidence on your treatment as back up.

Husband's timeline - overstayer 11 yrs
08/16 - FLR (FP) Partner, refused 02/18, 03/18 - JR permission refused with merit
08/18 - FLR FP (Partner) PSC - Approved
07/20 - FLR FP to FLR M Switch - Approved, 03/23 FLR M Ext Approved.
