Must I submit my ILR Card with my Naturalisation application?

Hello. Good day. Please I would like to find out if I will need to submit my ILR Card when submitting my Naturalisation application? I leant the Naturalisation application could take up to six months but I may need to use my ILR card during this six months and I am therefore wondering if there is any avenue/option to retain the ILR when the naturalisation application is in progress.
